There are versions for Microsoft Windows, Apple macOS, and Linux. Thunderbird is a free email client that can be downloaded from Mozilla. It can seriously take a while to copy all of your labels and the emails attached to them between accounts in Thunderbird, especially if you have a large number of emails connected to each label.Swarthmore ITS strongly recommends using Google's web-based interface for your email instead of an email client, in order to take advantage of features specific to Google Mail. Grab a snack, eat a Snickers, or patiently watch each copy message scroll across the bottom-left of the Thunderbird screen. Now select the folders (labels) from the original email address, drag them into the other address, and they will automatically be copied. Select the Import to Gmail option and press the Next button. Choose the required mail folders, then click the Import to Cloud button. Click on login, add load all mail folders of your webmail account to the software. You should see all of the tags appear as folders underneath the version that has them. Enter the hostname, password, and email address of your Roundcube account.

Now that you have both accounts added to Thunderbird, wait for the email lists to populate. To connect to Gmail or Google Apps mail via IMAP, you’ll need to enable IMAP within the mail account settings. This can be done from Settings > Options > Account Settings… Sign in to both accounts over IMAP using Mozilla’s Thunderbird.
